Heartburn and Acid Reflux-Foods Not to Eat

The main thing which causes acid reflux and heartburn is the types of foods that you eat. Eating a big meal forces your stomach to produce more acid to try and cope with it, and often it is this overload that causes the problem. The types of food that you eat can also make a huge difference. You should not eat foods which are known to be acidic. This can go a long way in giving you no more heartburn

This will mean reducing your intake of foods which are spicy. Try to avoid foods containing too much sugar and fats. Although fruit is good for you, try to avoid eating too many citrus fruits, as they are acidic in nature, and adding more acid to your body is not going to be helpful.

What you need to do is to try and get your body back to an alkaline position. You can achieve this by adding more vegetables to your daily meals. Try to eat vegetables in their raw form. Try juicing them if you can’t manage them in a raw state. The primary focus should be on dark leafy vegatables

Eating vegetables such as sprouts, carrots, cabbage, and brocolli can be very beneficial. Vegetables such as these reduce acidity in your body, and they are also beneficial for all round health. Ginger is also very good for relieving symptoms.

Antacid medications are commonly used by lots of people, but all they will do is to give you short term relief. You might get some relief but it won’t last long.

So in conclusion avoid the foods that cause heartburn and acid reflux. Make your meals smaller. You might find it helps if you do some form of exercise.
