Meals Ready to Eat-In a Blink of an Eye

Many of  us feel that stocking provisions such as meals ready to eat we often see advertised will never be neccessary in our lifetime. Although, circumstances are continually changing and we do not know what may befall us. Victor’s life was coming apart at the seams. He had health issues, his 20-year marriage was in trouble, and his business was struggling.

To put his life in perspective, Victor thought he could change his luck by getting out of the city smog and into the country air. He headed out to the quietest location he knew, which is where he spent family summer holidays, although he had never been to the cabin by himself during the winter . Victor figured in this no man’s land his serenity would not be interrupted by phone calls. Vic was prepared not to go hungry, even though his wife was the cook in the family, by bringing a truckload full of meals ready to eat.

Vic drove up the long winding service roadway as far as he could until he came upon a fallen tree obstructing his path. With nighttime fast approaching, Vic set off to the cabin on foot, where he figured the lights would not be operational on account of witnessing the downed power lines. After several blissful uneventful days, Victor was rudely awakened in the dead of night by a howling wind. Victor initially felt the sound was the rumbling of his tummy from all the MRE meals he ate just before calling it a night and lying down.

The window had been forcibly opened by a strong gust and he could see a heavy snow was falling outside. He leapt instantly into action to block out the cold that was entering the room but in his rush he misjudged and fell flat on his face in the dark. Victor lay motionless for quite some time because of his sustained injuries.

The next sound he heard was his teeth chattering as he came to frozen from head to toe. He was covered in snow! The injury on his forehead was throbbing and he feared he had injured his ankle when he fell. Somehow despite his wounds, Vic was able to slam the window on the piling snow. The meals ready to eat kept him alive for the many days it took for his recuperation, in fact, he never tasted anything better!

Thankfully, he had stockpiled the MRE survival food and he enjoyed every last morsel as his strength returned. When he felt strong enough to make the trek back to his vehicle, he felt that he was experiencing life more than ever before. Once and for all he had stumbled on life’s purpose. There are huge rewards hidden behind everyday challenges that are ours for the taking! Vic never lost sight of his goals after the mishap. Never one to look a gift horse in the mouth, Vic keeps meals ready to eat stockpiled for emergencies!
